Name;; Clearstream
Gender;; She-cat
Clan;; Buru
Rank;; Warrior
Appearance;; Clearstream is a rather small for a cat her age. Her legs are short and thin unlike most cats. Her tail is also rather small. Instead of looking like a full grown warrior, she looks like an overgrown apprentice. Her head is nice and small, fitting perfectly with her body. She has light gray, almost silver, fur that reminds one of a cloud right before it's about to rain outside. On her gray fur, there are black spots that dot her entire body. She has clear, sky blue eyes that are often alight with with her emotions.
Short Appearance;; Clearstream is a small gray cat with blue eyes.
Personality;; Clearstream has a tendency to be very honest. She is unafraid to speak her mind and will often give anyone a sharp tongue for arguing with her reasoning. She could be dared to do anything and not fear repercussions, if this for whatever reason had to do with her beliefs. It is rare when she is calm, for she is impatient and has a short temper. She is kinder to younger cats compared to the older ones, simply because she feels they do not know any better than to bother her. The only thing Clearstream cannot deal with is death. When a cat in the clan dies, she does not share tongues with them. She hides somewhere, pretending not to care about them.
History;; Clearstream was the smallest of the litter, being named Clearkit, for the almost clear outline of her future. Her mother feared, because she was so tiny, she wouldn't last leaf-bare. But as the winter went on, the larger kits died. By newleaf, Clearkit and her brother Sagekit were the only ones left alive out of a litter of four. Their mother sunk into a deep depression(she ended up being sent to the medicine cat den) , and their father (who everyone assumed wasn't from BuruClan) was nowhere to be found. To this day, no one knows who he is.
They were given to a foster queen, who had lost two kits of her own. Their foster brother, Reedkit, was always adventurous and got them into trouble. She and her 'brothers' would speak and protest whenever they got into trouble. She, grumbling as she went, would always take her punishment with her head held high.
She was named Clearpaw and cats were still wondering if she would be able to survive the harsh training and the life of a warrior, still being as small as she was. Shortly after her apprenticeship, it was discovered that Clearpaw's mother, Moonfur, had disappeared one night. They all assumed that Moonfur was dead. For a day, Clearpaw grieved before getting back to work. But for Sagepaw, it took a lot longer.
Worried for him, Clearpaw tried to console her brother. It didn't work. She went on a hunting mission with her mentor in AsagiClan territory, as she tried to work out in her head what to do with Sagepaw. It was then, across the river, she saw the white fur and green eyes she had known her whole life.
And the first thing she did when she got back to camp, was told her brother about what she had seen. For the first time in a long time, Sagepaw was excited, and insisted that Clearpaw accompany him that night to AsagiClan territory.
She refused, explaining that her mentor didn't like her as it was, and it was going to be an empty catch to get there mother back. "I don't even know if that's really her!" Clearpaw had vehemently exclaimed to her brother. So Sagepaw enlisted the help of Reedpaw, their foster brother. At dawn, Clearpaw saw her two 'brothers', feeling a twinge of foreboding, leaving camp. She was almost compelled to follow them, however, she did not. It was more important for her to stick to her task, and soon the thought of her brothers was out of her mind.
Until later that day, when a BuruClan patrol returned with two small bodies. Sagepaw and Reedpaw. Their foster mother was on that patrol, her head hung low. Clearpaw stared, her eyes wide with fright.
"AsagiClan found them." The leader of the patrol rasped. "Said that they were slaughtered by a fox on their territory."
Clearpaw's eye were wide with shock. Her brothers, the only two cats she truly cared about were . . . gone. She padded up to her foster mother, and nosed her fur gently. "Runningstream?" Clearpaw asked quietly.
"I need to be alone right now Clearpaw." Runningstream mewed brokenly, and left camp. Clearpaw was left staring at her foster mother as the tears from her face matched the rain that fell from the sky.
She was asked by the leader, if she had any idea why Sagepaw and Reedpaw had gone to AsagiClan.
"I told them I thought I saw Moonfur there." Clearpaw murmured. The leader nodded, unable to say anything else. "I caused their deaths." She muttered to herself as she left the leader's den. "And Runningstream hasn't been back since!" So this gave her an idea.
She snuck out of camp in the middle of the night. As soon as she had left camp, she realized any trace of Runningstream would've been gone by then, due to the torrential rain. Clearpaw traveled along the river's edge, only to discover that a battered body lay on the shore. With dread, she had a feeling who it was. The bile rose in her throat as she traveled closer to reveal that the battered body belonged to Runningstream. And for the second time, as she started to cry, the tears began to pour down from the sky.
She brought back Runningstream's body. But instead of sitting out the cold, rainy vigil like she ought've, Clearpaw hid. Seeking her solace by being alone. As cats tried to come in, to console her, she began to block the world out.
And the day that should've been the happiest day of her life, was one of the saddest, several moons after the entire Sagepaw/Reedpaw/Runningstream fiasco. A huge battled had ravaged through BuruClan camp, killing many cats. Among those cats that had been killed, the only cat she could truly open up to lay motionless. Her mentor, Birdwing.
She stood below the leader, where he gave his addresses and listened bitterly to what he had to say. "Clearpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?"
The rain once again pelted down on the cats as Clearpaw looked up at her leader with sad eyes. "I do." She responded quietly, almost drenched out by the rain.
"Then, by the power given to me, I pronounce your new name to be Clearstream. We honor your determination and clear heart and we welcome you as a full warrior of BuruClan." The leader proclaimed.
As time went on, she hardened herself against the world, refusing to let anyone in, yet putting on a happy face for the rest of the world. It is ironic in the bitterest of senses, considering she was supposed to be honored for her clear heart. She refuses to let anyone in, and emotionally does not put herself out there.
IC;; Step by step Clearstream forced herself closer and closer to the river. The forest sounds were an assault on her senses and she cringed. For some reason, she was extra sensitive today.
A rain drop landed on her head and she shook it away, annoyed and surly now. She was soon reminded why. Anytime it rained, she would always become sensitive to the things that happened.
A rustle sounded behind her pulled her out of her thoughts. Suspiciously, she raised her head and scented the air. She didn't recgonize the scent, so she crept closer and closer to a fern.
"HI!" squeaked a voice.
